Senate Majority Leader Dascle said on Friday that the proposed bankruptcy reform bill, now stalled because of an abortion dispute, may come up for a vote after the November elections.
The law would make it harder for people to use bankruptcy to avoid paying for purchases on credit and other debts. Sen. Daschle went on to say that he thinks the “time has come” for the bill to become law. This is so even though thousands of Americans are being thrown out of work or “downsized,” or their jobs moved overseas, sometimes by the very same companies that have been accused of financial and ethical misdeeds.
