AMERICANS are regularly bombarded with economic statistics: stock market, consumer confidence, durable goods, new home sales, etc. Lost among these numbers is any sense of what they mean for middle-class U.S. families.
For the last couple of years, Harvard law professor Elizabeth Warren has been warning that economic changes over the past three decades, along with the rewriting of the rules that govern economic activity in the United States, has created real danger for the middle class. She cites some numbers that have real meaning, and that meaning is alarming.
