J. Thomas Black was awarded a Pro Bono Service Award by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas today. Mr. Black was given the award at the December monthly luncheon meeting of the Bankruptcy Section of the Houston Bar Association in downtown Houston.
The award is in recognition of Mr. Black’s pro bono or free legal work done for the Houston Volunteer Lawyer’s Program, particularly their AIDS Project, benefitting victims of that disease. The award reads as follows:
