The IRS reported that it has issued a stop-work order to the first three companies given contracts in its private debt collection initiative, only days after appointing them in the first place.
The order was issued due to protests filed with the Government Accountability Office. While confronting the protests, the IRS said that it would continue to work for private debt collection work and the first cases are expected to be executed this summer.
