The House will act on a series of bills left over from the 108th Congress early this year, CongressDaily reported. Leadership aides listed bankruptcy legislation as one of the bills the House will move during the first half of this year. After the class action bill, Senate aides expect tsunami relief legislation to be brought to the floor, followed by bankruptcy legislation.
Editor’s Note: For those of you contemplating filing a bankruptcy, you should do so BEFORE this new law becomes law. It will likely make filing Chapter 7 bankruptcy more difficult, expensive, or downright impossible for some, and it may make Chapter 13 much less helpful in dealing with overwhelming debts.
