Lundquist Consulting Inc recently published the following bankruptcy statistics for the first quarter of 2006:
Bankruptcy filings are down 73% nationally when compared to the same period for 2005.
102,949 bankruptcy cases were filed nationally, down from 381,743 in the same quarter 2005
Chapter 7 Filings are 80% lower compared to the same period for 2005.
Chapter 13 filings are 53.6% lower compared to the same period for 2005.
Overall Data reportedly indicates filings are slowly trending towards pre BAPCPA levels (pre- bankruptcy reform levels).
