2007 BANKRUPTCIES INCREASE 40% SO FAR OVER 2006

The 623,399 total U.S. bankruptcies filed during the first three quarters of 2007 (Jan. 1 – Sept. 30) represented a 40.16 percent increase over the 444,789 cases filed over the same period in 2006, according to data released yesterday by the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts.
